The club table
A table is the centre of the big night: a place for the group to stand together, and a set spend agreed before the night starts. Republic lists its tables on its own site, from a standing table at 5,000 baht for up to four, through VIP Gold at 12,500 baht for five and VIP Platinum at 15,000 baht for ten, to 30,000 baht for its largest. The minimum is what the table must order across the night, not a fee on top: 5,000 baht shared by four is 1,250 baht each. Flexx also books tables, by phone, and publishes no prices.
What the clubs don’t publish: Republic’s site does not say whether its minimums include service and VAT, whether a deposit is taken, or what happens if you cancel. Ask before you book, and get the answer in writing. If its prices were ++, a 5,000-baht spend would come to 5,885 baht. See the example club night on what drinks cost.
Two deals with published terms: Club Insomnia sells its own members’ card, iRewards, at 100 baht for life, with 20% off all night, by its own site. For the day, Sina lets a booking be moved free, or half refunded, with 72 hours’ notice; within 72 hours there is no refund, by its own site.
The rules that catch groups out
At clubs and other licensed entertainment venues, everyone needs photo ID and must be 20 or over; other places set their own door rules. Leave vapes at home: owning one is a crime. Never leave a passport as a deposit for a jet ski or a motorbike. Do not let anyone ride a scooter after drinking: on a car licence the limit is 0.02%, and no amount is safe.
