Thailand is on UTC+7 all year. A Saturday 15:00 kick-off in England is 21:00 or 22:00 in Pattaya, depending on the season, and evening games in Europe start after midnight. That is why the sports bars stay open late.
Where to go
Soi Buakhao has a run of pubs, among them Pattaya Sports Bar, with more than 30 screens by its own site, a short walk from Tree Town. Jomtien Beach Road has two big beachfront sports bars, The Clubhouse and Daisy D’s, whose happy hour runs from 14:00 to 18:00. In the centre, The Sportsman on Soi 13 shows sport from 07:00 to 01:00 (Pattaya.Guide), and Robin Hood Tavern at The Avenue on Second Road opens at 07:00. Out east, by Lake Mabprachan, Outback has its screens and a beer garden from 07:00 to midnight; the pubs out there are on Third Road and the Darkside.
Pool and darts
The Clubhouse has two pool tables, with killer pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 19:30 and on Sundays at 15:00. Pattaya.Guide notes free pool tables at the back of Daisy D’s. Pattaya Sports Bar has pool and four dartboards.
