What it is

Isan Kan Wela is a pub in the style of Isan, Thailand’s northeast, and plays its music: mor lam, the sung music of the northeast, and luk thung, Thai country song. It bills itself as a mor lam variety venue (หมอลำวาไรตี้); on concert nights a guest singer or a full troupe takes the stage.

It opened in 2023 on the site of the old Tamnan Chon Pattaya on Third Road, by its own posts, and marked its third anniversary on 9 June 2026. It opens every day at 21:00 and runs to 04:00, the latest a licensed venue may stay open.

Concert nights

Two kinds of night. On ordinary nights it runs as what it calls a mor lam variety venue, and publishes no entry price, so ask by phone. On concert nights a guest singer or troupe plays, announced on its own Facebook page. No coming concert was announced when we checked on 7 October 2026.

Recent concerts, all now past: T-REX on 28 June 2026 (50 baht); Jimmy Sittipol, a Lao singer, on 25 July (free entry); the mor lam troupe Prathom Bantheung Silp (ประถม บันเทิงศิลป์) on 8 August, from midnight (100 baht); and Jintara Poonlarp on 3 October (150 baht). For one show in May a table for four cost 480 baht, with up to two extra guests.

Before you go

Bring a passport or another photo ID: licensed venues must check that you are 20 or over. It publishes no dress code. Its posts are in Thai; to book a table, call 095-752-7678 or message its Facebook page, and on a concert night book early, as its own posts advise. There is plenty of parking, on the old Tamnan Chon Pattaya site.
