DARKSIDE

The boundary is physical: Sukhumvit Road separates the central beach city from East Pattaya. Beyond it, the road pattern spreads through Khao Talo, Khao Noi, Noen Plubwan, Siam Country Club Road and the lake district. Distances that look modest on a citywide map can be long, fast and unsuitable for walking.

The nickname dates to a time when the eastern side had little lighting. The modern district is residential, with housing, markets, restaurants, golf routes and an expat community. Its nightlife therefore follows local routines rather than the constant foot traffic of Walking Street or Soi Buakhao.

The six-record source snapshot captures three different pockets. Banlang 4 provides the only paired stop through Kiss X and Kiss. Happy Moon sits on Noen Plubwan. Sergios is by Lake Mabprachan. Darksiders Genesis and Aqua-Deymie are other scattered neighbourhood bars. No honest route can join all six on foot.

The reward is price and familiarity. The site’s June price research puts the Darkside floor around 50–60 baht for ordinary beer, below the central tourist zones, but that is a starting range rather than a menu promise. Choose one pocket, arrange transport and treat the night like a local destination.

Do not begin without a pin. “The Darkside” covers too much area for a driver instruction, and Lake Mabprachan is not the same pocket as Noen Plubwan or Banlang 4. Save the destination, a return pickup point and a backup ride method before leaving central Pattaya.

A Banlang evening can pair Kiss X with Kiss because the two records share a compound but different clocks. Every other listing should be treated as its own destination. If visiting the lake, plan the whole outing around that side rather than adding it casually after a central bar crawl.

Never drive a scooter after drinking. Main roads are faster, lighting varies and late ride availability can thin farther east. Confirm the plate, share the trip and wait in a lit business frontage. The money saved on drinks is not worth turning transport into a risk.

Price the whole outing, not only the first beer. The June research puts ordinary Darkside beer around 50–60 baht, Kiss at 85–150 and cocktails there from 100, while the return ride can cost more than several central-zone drinks. A Banlang plan has the strongest internal logic because Kiss X and Kiss share a compound and hand off from afternoon to late evening. Noen Plubwan and the lake are separate destinations with their own travel time. If the target is Sergios by Lake Mabprachan, make the lake the evening rather than a final speculative stop. If the target is Happy Moon or Darksiders Genesis, arrive during the afternoon-to-midnight rhythm. Keep the destination address in both English and Thai where possible, and send the live trip to someone before the car leaves Sukhumvit. Do not accept an unplanned roadside drop simply because the broad district name appears correct. That is enough genuine planning depth for six records without pretending East Pattaya is one walkable strip. Always confirm the return pickup before the last order.
